POC – Proof of Concept Services for GoFibre

The world of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) is expanding at an exponential rate. Xantaro has seen this first-hand from our years of experience of working with and supporting the many alternative fibre network operators (AltNets) and witnessing the year-on-year growth of our many existing customers in this exciting market. Xantaro continues to support our customers by helping them expedite their growth by designing, innovating and implementing solutions in this fast-paced technology space.

One such AltNet with considerable vision and ambition is GoFibre – www.gofibre.co.uk – who are looking to expand their full fibre network to +500k residential and business premises, providing highly reliable, high bandwidth and extremely competitive services. To ensure their network is reliable, scalable and future-proof, they engaged Xantaro to address the requirements and, with their partner offerings, deliver the Nokia Fixed Access Technology solutions.

Testing

Xantaro worked closely with GoFibre, initially investing time and effort into fully understanding both their business and technical requirements based on a consultative approach. Xantaro was able to create a high-level design for the most appropriate solution which resulted in GoFibre being able to run a proof of concept (PoC). Xantaro scheduled and attended GoFibre’s lab in Berwick-upon-Tweed to install, demo and execute testing of the solution which met the requirements raised in the initial high-level requirement workshop.

Xantaro prides itself on being highly skilled in a multi-vendor network, providing a dynamic service and always going above and beyond to support our customers. An example of this POC was Xantaro being able to source and provide the full network solution, including auxiliary items at short notice, that was deemed necessary by the customer and outside the original scope of works.

Workshop

Following the PoC, a series of workshops have been held to review and run through any further questions and requirements and also to discuss and advise on current market best practices. Providing GoFibre with invaluable information, market insight and best practice will help plan the next phases of this project. This was positively received by the GoFibre team and has led to the scheduling of further sessions to discuss additional areas, including systems integration and automating processes to ensure the best customer experience for GoFibre’s customers.
