Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, DENOG12, the annual conference of the “German Network Operators Group”, is taking place virtually this time. After a workshop day on Sunday, November 8th, the official two-day conference will start on Monday, November 9th, providing the opportunity for discussions, chats, group discussions and sponsor meetings online.
Once again, Xantaro is supporting the association in cooperation with its technology partner Juniper Networks, and is actively involved in the program. Accordingly, Xantaro Solutions Architect Tobias Heister leads a workshop on “ASIC/NPU for Networkers” at 11:00 am on November 8th, e.g. to take a closer look at ASICs and NPUs in hardware from different vendors. In addition, Sebastian Graf, Head of Solutions Architecture at Xantaro, as part of the conference agenda of November 10th presents on “Building a transparent Layer 1 Switch using P4”, to present an internal research project in which a P4 capable whitebox switch was examined as an alternative to Layer 1 switching technologies.
DENOG is a community for people who research, operate and develop the Internet in Germany. In the context of this technical forum people working with, for or on the Internet meet and discuss network-specific topics with like-minded people in order to be able to solve them more easily. The DENOG e.V association was founded in 2017 to not only enable this exchange, but also to drive it forward and promote it.
